![]() It’s just a matter of a few tricks and getting toughened by the experience enough to have it stop bothering you. People have been working outdoors in the heat for a long, long time. The wicking of sweat and water will cool you off quite a lot, especially because it’s around the arteries that supply blood to your head. Just a light bandana or similar, tie it loosely around your neck and dampen it once in a while. Make sure to have the damp cloth around your neck, it helps a ton. Wear sun block - tanning looks good but too much will not only hurt, it will also drain you because it’s doing damage to you. Try to cover exposed skin with a light covering, something very breathable like a open weave or mesh is great. A men’s sun hat like this or this is functional and looks good. Even a baseball cap won’t be good enough at times. Wear a hat, especially one that has a good brim. It stays cool for a long time and really helps.īeing out in the sun can seriously drain you. Then around noon when it had some time to melt I’d shake it up and drink a bit, then do the same throughout the afternoon. I used to save an old bottle, fill it up at home and freeze it. That’s probably it, plus replace electrolytes with an occasional sports drink. So I kind of get why some people end up doing the kind of things OP talked about, I don't really know what can be done about it, so I choose to not involve myself. Somehow it feels like if I compare myself to someone else in that kind of way, it makes me somehow less of a complete disaster by comparison. I know there have been several times when I'm around town and seen a girl wearing those cat tights that were pretty popular and think like "Ha, I look so much better in those than that girl! Must feel bad to lose to a man at wearing tights!" because I am profoundly insecure and my legs are one of the only features I'm semi-happy with. That's a bad combination for having a positive and constructive community, when half the members are or were suicidally depressed etc. I think in many ways it stems from the fact that a lot of trans people have serious lingering mental issues from dealing with dysphoria and depression for so long, plus are probably insecure and feel a need to attack people to reassure themselves that they're okay. I'd like to be friends with a trans guy, they seem pretty chill, and our issues are different enough that there isn't so much overlap. I'd rather be friends with someone on a solid foundation of common interests and a strong relationship, not one predicated on a shared, painful medical condition and my biggest insecurities. On the one hand I get it, because they probably don't have anyone else to talk to about it with, but on the other hand, I spend every day and night of my life living it, I want to spend time with friends to get away from thinking about the fact that I'll never be normal and my entire life was ruined because I lost a 50/50 coin flip at birth. Tbh I don't like hanging out with other trans people, or at least MtFs, because a lot of them only want to talk about trans stuff. ![]() There's definitely an overwhelming amount of information but the people of the sub, such as yourself, have been very helpful these couple of days. The good thing about Helvetica is it's as neutral as the font it's named after so a change of straps would probably make dramatic changes to the look of the watch. My options on watches are already limited as it is, so I might end up spending that money on straps. ![]() I can definitely see this happening to me. I have kind of gotten into the mindset that a new strap can change the look of a watch so much, that it is almost like getting a new watch. >I will warn you that the sub-hobby of watch collecting is straps. If you check the link above, it also has edge stitching (albeit same color as the body's) but it doesn't look as serious. I'll probably order one of each if I end up buying the watch.Įdge stitching is definitely a factor but I think texture plays a role as well. ![]() ![]() Especially these even though they don't look too different from straps Helvetica comes with. I checked Barton's Amazon page out and I found a few more I really liked. I think almost every color of those Bartons would look at least OK with Helvetica, just some more than others. ![]()
